A managing general agency of personal lines and other property & casualty insurance productsis looking for an experienced and energetic full time Managing Underwriter to manage and motivate a small team of Underwriters while providing excellent customer service and managing accounts in our southwest Ohio office. This position will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring team members are providing prompt, accurate and efficient customer service. Will also interface directly with client agents, issuing and underwriting of new business policy applications and set the direction for a positive experience for our customers. This position will also be directly involved in business development and ensuring that new business goals are met.

In this role you will:
 

  • Manage a geographical territory in directly underwriting and providing customer service for all of our clients in that territory,
  • Participate in development and realization of strategies that will allow our organization to meet new business production goals, as well as directly overseeing a retail premium production operation,
  • Supervise other underwriters on the team, managing workflow, training and quality review.

 
Qualifications:
 
·         5 to 10 years of solid underwriting experience; preferably in the property/casualty industry with experience in personal lines - supervisory skills are a plus
·         Established track record underwriting and production of property and casualty business
·         Strong leadership and problem resolution skills with the ability to gain immediate respect
·         Self-driven and creative with proven success in achieving and exceeding goals
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Proficient with MS Office products and insurance processing systems
·         Property & Casualty Insurance License is a plus.
